Tại Valden - Áo, nơi thầy trò HLV Mourinho đóng quân, không khí tập luyện rất vui tươi nhưng cũng không kém phần quyết liệt. “Người đặc biệt” tỏ ra gần gũi với các học trò khi quyết định đạp xe từ khách sạn ở Valden đến sân tập.
Sau trận hòa 1-1 với Wolfsberger (Áo) hôm 25-7, Chelsea còn loạt trận giao hữu với các CLB khác của châu Âu như: Olimpija (ngày 27-7), Vitesse (30-7), Werder Bremen (3-8) và Ferencvaros (10-8) trước khi trở về nước Anh đá trận mở màn của mình ở Giải Ngoại hạng Anh với Burnley.
Chelsea trước đó cũng tăng cường nhân sự trước mùa giải mới với 4 bản hợp đồng chất lượng gồm: Filipe Luis, Costa (từ Atletico Madrid), Fabregas (Barcelona) và mời nhất là “cố nhân” Didier Drogba (Galatasaray). Ngoài ra, HLV Mourinho cũng gọi về thủ môn Courtois sau 3 năm cho Atletico Madrid mượn.

Giải đấu năm nay sẽ diễn ra tại Boston, Mỹ.
