Biết tin Angelina Jolie sẽ thể hiện vai Mariane Pearl, bà Mariane Pearl tỏ ra rất vui, bà nói: “tận đáy lòng tôi rất ngưỡng mộ công việc của cô ấy”. A Mighty Heart do đạo diễn Anh Michael Winterbottom thực hiện, ông từng đạo diễn thành công nhiều bộ phim chiến tranh như Welcome To Sarajevo, 24 Hour Party People, The Road to Guantanamo.
Công ty Paramount Vantage sản xuất và phát hành. Công ty Plan B của Brad Pitt cũng sẽ là một trong những nhà đồng sản xuất bộ phim. Phim dự kiến khởi quay trong 5 tuần nữa dù chưa rõ vai Daniel Pearl sẽ giao cho nam diễn viên nào.
